What we do at CORE
Through a variety of elearning approaches, CORE equips learners of all ages with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the future. CORE’s focus in eLearning covers a spectrum of activity including both the pedagogical and technological aspects of eLearning. This includes expertise in learning design, online communities, online tools for eLearning, video conferencing and the use of advanced networks.
CORE conducts quality research and evaluation relating to a range of national and international educational programmes in early childhood, schools, tertiary and industry sectors. CORE regularly reports to individual educational institutions, government, and international bodies on emerging trends involving the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education.
CORE Education have pioneered innovation within the school and ECE sector that has a strong emphasis on the development of curriculum and leadership, focused on localised and individualised needs and delivered as whole institution professional learning and development programmes.
Our team
CORE Education has a team of more than 50 staff, including specialists in research , programme design and evaluation, professional development and facilitation, policy advice, strategic planning, and software development.
With staff located across New Zealand CORE operates as a “virtual team”, using the same technologies and strategies the company encourages others to adopt in their professional practices.

Sharing best practice
CORE is committed to sharing best practice and disseminating research findings
- CORE’s conference team provides outstanding and highly acclaimed professional development opportunities for educators, locally, nationally and internationally, including exposure to some of the world’s leading thinkers in education.
- Every year, we run a series of workshops, seminars, real and virtual conferences for educators in all sectors across New Zealand, including NZ’s largest practitioner conference ULearn.
- CORE staff regularly present at national and international conferences and events, and have undertaken lecture series in the USA and Australia.
- CORE Education has been invited to participate in ministerial groups showcasing New Zealand’s educational services overseas (e.g. Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia).
International Consultancy
CORE Education is involved in a number of international consultancy projects, having completed work in Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, USA and the UK. This has involved working with local institutions, state authorities and national Governments.
CORE Education took the lead role in the Innovation New Zealand Education consortium project, which received high praise from Malaysia’s Education Minister. The project was built upon CORE’s successful ICT PD cluster model and developed in the Malaysian context.
CORE Education NZ is working jointly with its sister company CORE Education UK on opportunities in the UK and European contexts.
