Ann Hatherly

Coming to CORE in January 2006 with a wealth of experience in the early childhood education sector, Ann will be leading the ECE ICTPL contract for CORE. Ann was most recently connected with the professional development provider, Educational Leadership Project (LTD) where she was team leader for the ECE Exemplar PD Contract. She was also a member of the team involved in the development of “Kei Tua o te Pae, Assessment for Learning: Early Childhood Exemplars”.

In the last five years Ann has seen the power of new technologies to make a positive difference in the lives of children, their families, and teachers in the work she has done with ECE Centres. While she does not consider herself to be an ICT expert she is curious and enthusiastic about the new possibilities ICT offers for teaching and learning in the 21st century.

Though she has now lived in Auckland for more than half of her life, Ann regards the centre of the North Island as her spiritual home, having been brought up on a farm at Tangiwai. She lives with her partner, Michael, a literary agent, and their eighteen year-old son, André.
