Helen Duncan

Helen has solid experience in the early childhood sector, having taught in kindergartens and childcare centres in New Zealand and the UK for the past ten years. She joined CORE Education in 2006 to work on the Ministry of Education’s Early Childhood Education Professional Learning programme.

Helen is passionate about supporting the learning of young children and sees ICT as an opportunity for children to present and reflect on themselves. She wants to see ICT’s used to enhance communication between centres and families. Helen’s natural enthusiasm and energy comes to the fore as she facilitates a number of early childhood centres in Dunedin, supporting them to incorporate ICT’s into their programmes and management.

As a recent new homeowner in her hometown of Dunedin, Helen can be found brandishing the latest power tools and colour swatches when she is not at work. As a self-declared motor mouth she also enjoys catching up with friends (or anyone close by) at a café as well as cooking, movies, shopping and squash.
