Job Title:
National facilitator primary - ICT PD

Jill has been using her extensive knowledge of professional development and ICTs to enrich the learning experience of teachers and students for many years.  She began working for CORE Education in January, 2004 as a national ICT PD facilitator.   With most of her clusters spread throughout the South Island, Jill is often found boarding planes, travelling the highways, living out of a suitcase, and going virtual at the end of the day with the online environment.

Prior to joining the national ICT PD team and CORE, Jill was facilitator for the Katikati Cluster in 2003 and the Te Rapa Cluster 1999-2001.  This followed Jill’s long career in classroom teaching and a year working for Info-Tech Education. Jill says she loves working alongside teachers, seeing the satisfaction they get when they succeed in using new technologies and processes to engage and enable students, and improve learning outcomes in their schools.

Living at Pirongia on a five-hectare block with husband Jim and 15 beef animals, Jill loves coming home to the beauty of the rural landscape.  As with many of her techy colleagues, she enjoys using new technologies in her professional and personal life. For this country girl, warm sunny days, the company of friends and family, regular travel, and the absence of cooking or housework make life just about perfect.
