EPS2.0 in the school review process

Using the EPS2.0 online tool is just one part of the overall process you should consider in your whole school review and development process.

The process outlined below provides an overview of what might be involved, and how CORE can assist.

CORE staff are available to work with senior staff or whole staff prior to the implementation of the EPS2.0. The focus for these sessions is on (a) introducing the EPS2.0 tool, and (b) establishing a readiness for it to be used by staff.
Schools should allow a half or full day for such sessions, depending on the size of the staff and what needs to be covered.

The EPS2.0 online tool has been developed to be used independently by a school, from the online registration process through to the printing out of a customized school report. If preferred, CORE staff may also be employed to facilitate this process – for instance, at a whole school PD day where the survey might be completed by all the staff in a computer lab.

CORE provides an annual subscription-based programme of support for schools who have completed the EPS2.0 which includes:
  • A regular e-newsletter containing updates and information about upcoming events
  • Access to an online community of practice and a pool of online resources to support in-school PD programmes across the 18 EPS dimensions
  • Audio and video conferencing support by arrangement
  • Entitlement to repeat the EPS2.0 survey again at some stage during the 12 month subscription period.

Upon receipt of the EPS2.0 report, schools are in a position to determine priorities for development in the coming year(s).
CORE staff are available to assist with facilitated follow-up meeting(s) leading to the development of an action plan based on the priorities identified by the school through the EPS2.0 process.

Schools may wish to involve CORE staff in an ongoing way to assist in the implementation of the action plan, and the achievement of the action plan goals. CORE staff are available to assist through a programme of ongoing facilitated support, through face to face meetings or via video conferencing, or a combination of these. Because each school’s needs will be different, the nature of this support will need to be negotiated on a case by case basis.
In addition to the negotiated programme of ongoing facilitated support, CORE also offers a range of programmes under its CORE-enable banner that are designed to enable schools to achieve their long term goals and objectives.
