Selver Sahin

Before she joined CORE, Selver was busy with conducting her PhD research in Political Science at the University of Canterbury. While doing her doctoral study, she also worked as a tutor and undertook some short-term data entry and analysis assignments. Prior to her arrival in New Zealand in mid-2004, she worked as a Research Assistant and Education Specialist in two different Turkish universities where she was involved in carrying out research into the EU Education (Socrates, Leonardo and Youth) and Technology Programmes (Sixth Framework Programme), disseminating information on available national and international research project-funding oppportunities, providing technical assistance in writing research proposals, organising workshops and conferences and concluding student exchange agreements with European and Middle Eastern higher education institutions.

She lives in Christchurch with her husband Anka and enjoys travelling, getting to know new cultures, listening to Balkan music, cooking, sampling different cuisines and watching DVDs and TV series.
