A One-Day Seminar and Workshop Series Led by Mark Treadwell and facilitated by CORE Education
Due to insufficient numbers of registrations at each venue the "Unlocking the Puzzle" regional seminars have been cancelled.
CORE Education and Mark Treadwell remain committed to supporting principals and teachers as they embrace the New Zealand Curriculum and address the needs of 21st Century learners within their schools.
The “Unlock the Puzzle” seminars are still available to be run in areas where there are sufficient numbers of people who want to attend, and we would be happy to negotiate the details with anyone who is interested in hosting an event. These seminars are designed to introduce participants to the context for curriculum change and an understanding of the curriculum document itself. The seminars are suitable for regional meetings or whole school staff gatherings.
The seminars feature:
- Mark Treadwell, reknown NZ educator and thought leader who introduces some of the “big ideas” and sets the scene for curriculum change in our schools and education system.
- Mary Anne Mills – who led the Ministry of Education’s team responsible for the development of the NZ Curriculum. Mary presents some strategic and practical approaches for the adoption of the NZC into schools.
Other presenters will be available depending on dates, needs and availability, addressing themes such as Kaupapa Marautanga o Aotearoa (the Maori curriculum document), Skills for the 21st Century, and change management.
The day-long seminars provide opportunity for these thoughts and ideas to be processed in facilitated sessions, and a specific outcome of each seminar is the development of an action plan that provides specific areas to focus on, with suggested resources and contacts, that is unique to each individual/group who attends.
