Vince Ham

Vince was one of the foundation staff at CORE education when it opened as Ultralab South on 1 April, 2003. Vince came to CORE steeped in teaching and education, having clocked up 16 years in teacher education and research at Christchurch College of Education and (briefly) the University of Canterbury. Prior to this he was the History HOD at Nelson College for Girls.
Most often referred to by different personality types to his at CORE as its ‘absent-minded professor’, Vince fills his weeks developing, conducting, and writing up research projects for CORE.
“Too old to rock and roll and much too young to die” (as the song goes), Vince spends his weekends variously working in the garden, playing soccer, going to movies, ‘doing up’ houses, or drinking specialist citrus teas at Christchurch’s finest cafes, depending on the season and the weather du jour.
Other hobbies, not recently engaged in so much but still of interest, are stained glass work, golf, programming (lapsed Hypercard freak!), and travelling to exotic places. His retirement fantasy is to own a (large) boat and go on an extended romantic ‘research expotition’ exploring sunsets in a variety of foreign ports (... sherries, wines, beers, etc).
